Queen’s reigning supreme at summit as they march 10 points clear

-

Queen’s Park stretched their lead at the top of League Two to 10 points with a 1-0 win over Stirling Albion in their first game at their temporary home, the Falkirk Stadium.

The game’ s decisive moment came on 33 minutes when Lee Kilday flicked on Luca Connell’s corner, with the ball hitting Darryl Meggatt and flying past his own goalkeeper. After the break, Jack Leitch went close for Stirling while Salim Kouider-aissa twice wasted chances to add a second.

Elgin City enhanced their play-off bid with a 3-0 win at Annan Athletic.

Tony Dingwall broke the deadlock on 37 minutes when he drifted into space and slammed the ball home from 12 yards after good work from Conor O’keefe. Four minutes later, the lead was doubled when Kane Heston’s shot was saved, but the rebound fell to Brian Cameron and the Elgin stalwart made no mistake to give Gavin Price’s men a twogoal cushion at the break.

Annan rallied but Smart Osadolor secured the win in the last minute when he pounced on a defensive mistake and ensured Elgin moved into third.

Albion Rovers jumped above hosts Cowdenbeath and into eighth thanks to former Hearts star Ryan Stevenson’s first- half penalty at Central Park.

The visitors were awarded a spot-kick after 11 minutes when Aron Lynas was fouled, with Stevenson coolly slotting home his first Rovers goal. After the break Jamie Leslie went close to getting a second for Brian Reid’s men when his glancing header bounced off the bar and Finn Ecrepont missed the chance to put the game to bed when he fired wide.
