Farewell to Philip

Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, has died aged 99.

Honoured to have met and spoken, briefly, with him.

Margaret Green Saw him at the 25th anniversar­y celebratio­n of Nato in Portsmouth. He and the Queen passed in review by my ship and they were standing on deck to view all of the ships from every Nato country that was there. RIP Sir! Thank you for your service.

Laurel Ann Lewis Brockman He served with distinctio­n in the Royal Navy during World War II. Mentioned in dispatches during the Battle of Cape Matapan when serving aboard a battleship and then later was credited with saving the destroyer he was serving on from enemy air attack.

William Gilmour In 1961 I was walking along Exhibition Road in London when he passed me in a big limousine, registrati­on RN1. He was driving and wearing some regalia.
