Irresistible

Boris Johnson ‘cannot stand in the way’ of a second Scottish independence referendum said Nicola Sturgeon.

More Waffle from Sturgeon to keep the deluded Sheep happy. All her so-called freebies promised will never happen and she has nothing else to offer.

May Jarvie Not freebies. We pay extra tax for what we get and I have yet to hear one Scot complain about it.

Jane Valentine Is she really that stupid or does she just think that we're all stupid? Sturgeon has been making the same claim now for several years and there's still no referendum because the Tories keep saying no. The truth is, she has no answer to Boris saying no yet again.

Eurotrash He can if he wants, what is important is what we do. We need to stop asking and start doing. It amazes me there are still people that want to be ruled by the Governmen t in England.

Barry Kirk

Yet ask anyone specifically what they aren’t happy with and affects their day to day life and it will be a devolved matter on Holyrood policies and priorities. Holyrood just likes to blame Westminster for its own failings in devolved areas.

Dianne Davidsoon

We were forced out of the best trading partnership by voters in another country, two countries in fact . We have no power over our own future unless we become independent.

Kathleen King

Time to tear down the UK.

Gavin Paterson

Let's have a vote but not repeating the same mistakes of Brexit. Make sure everyone who is voting knows exactly what they are voting for – currency, European Union

agreement, immigration, border with UK, income tax – everything on the table. Without that it is not democracy, it is a marketing campaign based on stirring up hatred and convincing people it's patriotic, and absolutely should not be permitted.

Andrea Ward

Serious question: is 50.1% of the popular vote in any future referendum sufficient support to start a new independent country based on what we have learned in the last 5 years?

Norman Sutherland

Oh Nicola, just because you say it doesn’t mean it’s true, as per every election promise

you’ve ever made.

Gordon Devlin This election is not about the constitution. That's just Nicola trying to manipulate the terminally thick and gullible.

Margot Gleave I wish she would fix the problems Scotland has, and more specifically the issues they are in direct control over, before talking about independence. Things will be a hell of a lot harder in an I ndy S cotland and she 'won't have funding' to sort anything. More excuses and more hardship for us normal working people.

Ryan Byers If the outcome was yes in 2014 there would be no such second referendum.

JJ Bren

Here's a thought for all you independence supporters : what will you do if in the case of a second referendum on Scottish independence Scotland again votes to remain as part of the United Kingdom? Answers please.

Fraser Thorburn

Accept the result. This time it really is the last chance for many years. A no vote will trigger UK legislation making it illegal to hold a future referendum. In time, the Scottish Parliament will be stripped of all of its meaningful powers. That has already started, but will accelerate with a no vote. So, if you don’t want perpetual UK Tory Governments to rule you future – vote for Independence!

David Howie They'll start out demanding a third referendum, of course! They've never accepted any result they've lost yet, they won't start now… and they wonder why most of Scotland don't want to live in a country run by these fools.

Kev Hopkins I am a unionist but I do agree that if the people of Scotland by a majority want a referendum and give a majority to parties committed to one then it will / should happen. That does not give SNP free reign over everything such as timings, question, voting age etc. In fact I would say that a vote really cannot happen until concerned parties produce fact-checkable plans and get official position on EU membership etc. Same would be true for any promises / forecasts unionists would want to make. Lets make sure if we have another referendum it is based on facts, not speculation.

Robert Ramsay Far too logical for most but good luck with that.
