Former Government Chief Scientist Sir David King accused Prime Minister Boris Johnson of using the Covid pandemic to privatise the NHS by stealth.
@Leetronixuk wrote: “He’s right. Look how many services pre-covid were cut or merged or privatised in disability, pain clinics, mental health etc. They either don’t now exist or are managed by a single consultant managing over 1000 patients at a time.”
@Jake5ey tweeted: “Poor management introduced through the Trusts that Tories started. However, still good enough to have a very successful vaccine roll-out whilst Test & Trace from Serco and their ilk are disastrous after £32bn spent.”
@forsure_lesley wrote: “I say they were planning this before we had even heard of the word Covid.”
@gillianthurston said: “He is right. Johnson is robbing British taxpayers.”
@karen_kelland added: “He is absolutely right. Privatisation moved on at pace with STP'S. Underhand tactics hiding behind narrative of sustainability, cost efficiency resilience and self management. Private providers called partners.”
#LOCKDOWNS
Boris Johnson's said the bulk of the work in reducing Covid cases was due to the lockdown, not the vaccine programme.
@jamesmelville tweeted: “So Boris Johnson says that lockdowns are the main reason hospitalisations and death rates have plummeted while conveniently forgetting that lockdownfree Florida has had lower Covid death rates per capita for 6 months compared to lockdown California.”
@philipwatson wrote: “Very dangerous talk, paving the way for future lockdowns.”
@petedjackson said: “So you’ve taken the vaccine and have been told for the last 3 months, that this is the road to get your freedoms back. Yet Boris stabs you in the back again to say lockdowns work. Hardly freedom. He needs to go. Now."
@tychonestoris said: “This is a planned and deliberate attempt to set our expectations for more lockdowns, whilst also disparaging the effectiveness of vaccines and ‘rationale’ for vaccine passports.”
@davidmilley22 wrote: “The damages of Lockdowns far exceeds the damage done by a respiratory virus with a survival rate of 99.9%.”
