Ready, steady, go!
Scots will be able to travel anywhere within Scotland for the purpose of outdoor socialising, recreation or informal exercise from Friday onwards, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced yesterday . The move comes earlier than was expected.
Just proves she is making dates and decisions up. She could've done this weeks ago. Why can't we cross a border? Couldn't make it up.
John M Richardson Our experts are confusing us. With or without vaccination, people are still dying of Covid- 19. Human rights and fundamental freedoms are important.
Laws Kanda
Ooh, wonder why she is now choosing to ignore the science and relax hitherto rigid dates... not an election looming, is there?
Gordon Devlin
Just what I was thinking She just wants the votes and does not care how she gets the m. Hope people see through her.
Sandra Steen Not sure science is being ignored here, down to 1.4 per cent positivityrate.could it have been done a little earlier? Probably should have.
Gary Jones Ah , very timely for more electioneering … they must think we’ re all buttoned up the back.
Sue Caughey
Full marks?
Education Secretary John Swinney pledged to “tear down” financial barriers faced by Scotland’s poorest pupils, should the SNP be re-elected.
After 14 years?! Education is a devolved matter, which they've played around with in order to try and get votes. It's not been fair for the children, who have been guinea pigs.
Margaret Moyes
The SNP promise the world and deliver nothing. Hopefully the Scottish people will see the SNP for what they are – false. Be even better if the SNP focused on creating well- paid jobs rather than creating yet more poor people to bribe with handouts.
Vern DM It would be more meaningful if welfare benefits were increased to the level of a fair pay! Then the parents themselves would be in a position to pay for their own children!
Eileen Johnston Suggest you start criticising UK government as 85 per cent of welfare benefits are
reserved.
Susan Smith
Nicola Sturgeon refused to take responsibility for Welfare Payments.
May Jarvie
He was ineffectual as the SNP leader, unfortunately the same trait has followed him into education!
Gordon Hood
Opponents seem to blast any SNP giveaway… mainly because they support the Tory part y, who have never given anything to Scotland!
Cathy Linney
What a stupid thing to say. Opposing the SNP and independence does not make any one a Conservative supporter, no matter what your masters tell you.
Steve Hickman
Be it on the heads of these voters that put the SNP back into government as 14 years is far too long to try sort things out! Time for change so we can move forward, but with all these bribes why would anyone want to change? Scotland is a total disgrace as these freebies need to be eventually paid for and I have not one bit of pride being Scottish, living in a scrounging society, as we are not all needy just pure greedy.
Arthur Thompson
Nothing is free, we pay taxes to have payments, free prescriptions, bridge tolls, children's meals etc.
Craig Hollywood
Prioritising enough teaching staff and council funding to support schools seems to be bottom of priorities.
Dianne Davidsoon
Judge me on education. Then try not to compare our performance to other nations, then hide our own report into education standards until after the election.
Robert Ramsey Exactly! How thousands of Scottish electorate cannot see right through Sturgeon and her SNP is completely beyond me! To support a devolved administration who for the past 14 years have allowed our children’s educational attainment to fall so far behind other countries of the world, is nothing short of unforgivable.
Margaret Wall Not really so long ago, Scotland could boast that we had the world's best education system.
Joe Mcjoe Maybe if the Scottish Government just funded c ouncils properly it would help..
Jim Strachan All the unionists can bleat all they want, but SNP will be voted back in by us Scots in May.
