Steve Herkes takes over at Gilson Gray

Gilson Gray Financial Management, the investment arm of the eponymous Scottish legal firm, has appointed Steve Herkes as its new managing director.

Herkes, who joins GGFM from S James’s Place, will be responsibl­e for the strategic direction of the firm, including securing new business opportunit­ies. He will be directly involved in recruitmen­t, as well as leading future merger and acquisitio­n activity, the firm noted.

The new MD will work alongside current GGFM managing partner Alastair Lindsay, who is to direct his focus to client matters and into developing a “niche private client offering”.

Glen Gilson, group chairman and managing partner at Gilson Gray, said: “Steve’s unrivalled knowledge and expertise will greatly assist our ambitious expansion plans and overall business developmen­t.
