Walking tall: Alpacas may hold key to fighting SARS-COV-2
A Sunday stroll with a difference. The Bloching family were pictured yesterday taking their llamas and alpacas for a walk on a country lane in Waldhausen, Germany.
Llamas have been in the news in recent months because scientists are creating Covid-19 antibodies in the animals to understand how humans could engineer better immune responses. Researchers believe they can extract tiny, very powerful SARS-COV-2 antibody fragments from llamas and turn them into inhalable medicines.
