Aldi calls on Marks & Spencer to join forces amidst a caterpillar cake legal battle and donate profits to charity. M&S suggested Aldi create a cake featuring their Christmas character Kevin the Carrot instead.

@Ezza wrote: “I can't actually believe M&S have turned down a collaboration to make money for charities with Aldi over a Swiss [blooming] roll.”

@femiokes wrote: “Why would M&S want to collaborate with an organisation or anyone who they have ongoing and unsettled differences with? Would you collaborate with an adversary?”

@iris_mansi wrote: “For the good of many, yes I would, good job you’re not in the peace process business.”

@peterscott tweeted: “So instead of admitting they stole it [Aldi are] trying to play the moral high ground?”

@Needdm replied: “How have they stolen it, it’s a cake for goodness’ sake and all the supermarkets have one. It’s like saying only one supermarket can sell a particular type of biscuit. An M&S caterpillar cake is an M&S cake, and Aldi one is clearly different. If I buy Aldi chocolate I know it isn’t M&S.”

The American Humanist Association Board voted to withdraw the 1996 Humanist of the Year award it bestowed on biologist Richard Dawkins over ‘transphobia’.

@rip4nutmeg wrote: “Richard Dawkins asked what the difference is between a man who identifies as a woman & a white person who identifies as black. Nobody was able to answer it. But for asking it, the American Humanist Association has taken back an award it gave him 25 years ago, due to 'transphobia' ”

@Obsolesence wrote: “Humanists give award for challenging un-evidenced faith based positions. Humanists remove award for challenging un-evidenced faith based positions.”

@barneybalboa said: “Why is it acceptable to identify as a different gender but not anything else? If the whole point is that you ‘feel’ like you're in the wrong body, surely that can apply to anyone? Isn't that discrimination?”

@Sputzeed wrote: “Do we have pills that exist for changing people's bodies into forming different racial traits? Cos right there is a difference.”
