Partick move two points clear at the summit as late goals sink Dumbarton

Partick Thistle left it late to beat hosts Dumbarton 2-0, however Ian Mccall’s side moved two points clear at the top of the League 1 table as a result.

The Jags thought they had taken the lead early in the second half however Rico Quitongo cleared Zak Rudden’s effort off the goalline.

Rudden was smiling though when he fired in from close range with 10 minutes left before turning provider for Ross Maciver’s first Thistle goal in the last minute.

Jason Brown prodded past Robbie Mutch on 80 minutes as Peterhead knocked Falkirk off top spot with the defender taking full advantage of the space left by Mogaro Gomis’ dismissal five minutes earlier.

Montrose secured a tophalf finish by beating visitors Cove Rangers 1-0 with Liam Callaghan’s first-half corner deflected in by Fraser Fyvie, with Cove’s Ryan Strachan sent off late on.

Airdrie jumped into the top four after ending East Fife’s hopes of a top half place with a 2-0 home success.

Calum Gallagher got on the end of Kyle Turner’s corner to nod in the opening goal for Ian Murray’s men on 66 minutes.

And Dale Carrick scored at the second attempt after seeing his penalty kick saved by Brett Long to secure the three points Diamonds.

Forfar Athletic look doomed after going down 3-1 to Clyde at Station Park.

Scott Fenwick put the Loons ahead on 38 minutes but Lewis Jamieson replied instantly.

Jamieson got his second with a solo effort before Josh Jack scored with his first touch of the ball.
