Angus on Boris

Quite. It’ s the classic "straw man’ defence. Set up an irrelevant argument/ scenario to knock it down. As you say, trying to deflect attention from their disastrous domestic record (the actual areas they have responsibility for) rather than the ‘mirage’ of independence.
