EURO 2020 // SCOTLAND 1, CZECH REPUBLIC 2
DAVID MARSHALL
It is impossible to see beyond the 36-year-old being caught out up field and beaten practically from the halfway line, even if he made several smart stops beforehand. 4
JACK HENDRY
Taking a wild shot with no-one behind you and your keeper upfield was a typical momentary lapse and the central defender, who also hit the bar, was subbed after his error. 5
GRANT HANLEY
The imposing Norwich City defender was a real rock in the opening period, except when Schick got between him and Cooper to fashion a superb header for the opener. 6
LIAM COOPER
Solid display, but the dogged Leeds captain was that he proved he isn’t Kieran Tierney, the loss of the rampaging defender upsetting Scotland’s balance. 5
STEPHEN O’DONNELL Saw plenty of the ball early on and that isn’t necessarily how Scotland would have wanted is to pan out as his usual industry and inescapable limitations were on show. 6
SCOTT MCTOMINAY The Manchester United midfielder was neither fish nor fowl and more is expected and required of the 22-year-old, who dropped into the back three near the end. 5
STUART ARMSTRONG Struggled to justify the faith shown in him by Clarke, the Southampton man effectively fielded ahead of Callum Mcgregor and struggling to make anything. 4
ANDREW ROBERTSON The Scotland captain was an immense figure for his team, slinging in a series of crosses begging to put away and demonstrated a big game mentality that eluded others. 7
JOHN MCGINN Grafted away and more than held his own physically, but a lack of composure at times let him down and he never looked like adding to his 10 goals at this level. 6
RYAN CHRISTIE
Few had the form-challenged attacker in their line-up and despite a couple of bright interventions the fact did not reappear after the interval told its own story. 5
LYNDON DYKES Striker put himself about and had a couple of clear chances to open Scotland’s account but he didn’t demonstrate the necessary conviction to capitalise on them. 5
CHE ADAMS
Surprise omission showed enough in his second half outing to show he ought to have started. 5
Callum Mcgregor, Ryan Fraser, James Forrest and Kevin Nisbet came on too
