In remembrance: Bolsonaro criticised as coronavirus toll soars
A woman places a rose in the sand on Copacabana beach in honour of 500,000 coronavirus deaths during a protest against Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro.
Many critics blame the president's attempt to minimise the disease as the reason behind the toll. Thousands gathered in downtown Rio de Janeiro waving flags with slogans such as "Get out Bolsonaro. Government of hunger and unemployment."
Other marchers had posters reading: “It's his fault," referring to Mr Bolsonaro.
