Visitors who drive into a village on the shores of Loch Lomond face three penalty points under a tough plan to restrict traffic at the beauty spot.

She says she had no notice of the TTRO. These have to be advertised in many places before they come into effect. She just didn't see any of them. But it is such a beautiful place I can see why it is needed, but a shame that its costing business owners so much.

Knee-jerk NIMBYISM which will kill the tourist trade stone dead. Using badly written Covid legislation to railroad through changes under "temporary," legislation just compounds the folly. There could have been a way to do this; to plan ahead and the advertise the hell out of it, promoting Luss as a place to visit because it's car free. But if you're just putting up a sign and fining visitors, you might as well say "Luss is a local town for local people."

Frank Murphy Love popping into Luss, on my way to Inveraray. Love the wee gift shops around the place. People naturally want to visit some nice spots, but l always did wonder what it was like for the residents of the village, especially on a hot summer’s weekend day when everyone and their granny pulled up?

Neil Caulfield I have visited the little jewel called Carmel by the Sea in Monterey County, California. The town has two or three parking lots specifically for visitors, as there is basically no street parking available. Perhaps this is the plan for Luss, too?

Katrin Patience Think the wee tourist gift shops and cafes might see a reduction in takings.
