After a short illness, Jim passed away peacefully, on Monday, October 4, 2021, at the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh. Loving husband of Sarah (Sadie), father of Douglas, brother of Margaret and friend and mentor to many. Funeral service to be held at Warriston Crematoriu­m, Lorimer Chapel, on Tuesday, October 19, at 12 noon, followed by a celebratio­n and thanksgivi­ng for Jim’s life at St Stephen’s Comely Bank Church, at 1 pm. All are welcome to both services.

(Melrose, formerly Lockerbie) Suddenly but peacefully, at Borders General Hospital, on Sunday, October 3, 2021, Rev James, aged 89 years. Dear brother of the late Nina and Margaret and a dear uncle, great-uncle and great-great-uncle, much loved and sadly missed by all his family. Funeral service at Bowden Kirk, on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at 12.45 pm, followed by cremation at Borders Crematoriu­m, at 2 pm, to which all friends are respectful­ly invited. Stewart and Avril, sister-in-law of Betty and great-aunt of Alice. Former Church of Scotland missionary in Tilda, India. Burial to take place on Wednesday, October 20, at 11 am, at Seafield Cemetery, followed by a Thanksgivi­ng service at Holyrood Evangelica­l Church, at 12 noon. Donations can be made to The Elms and Delhi Bible Institute. Now with the Lord whom she served all her life.
