Robertson aims for BIG impact as new Head of Public Affairs
The BIG Partnership has appointed Paul Robertson in a new position of Head of Public Affairs to strengthen the agency's public affairs practice.
Paul joins BIG from top-ten London consultancy Portland, where he spent four years advising major corporate clients on public affairs and strategic communications. At BIG, Paul will work across the agency's offices to strengthen its public affairs advice and support to clients, and to grow BIG'S public affairs offer to new clients.
Prior to working at Portland, Paul was the SNP'S Head of Research & Policy in Westminster and played a key role in building the party's operations in London. He was responsible for developing policy and political strategy on reserved issues, and was a senior aide to successive SNP leaders in Westminster.
BIG'S Chief Executive Allan Barr said: "Paul's extensive knowledge and insight into Scotland's political and regulatory landscape will be an invaluable support for our clients."
Leading UK product design and development firm Wideblue, which is part of Pivot International, has appointed Barry Warden as its new managing director.
Barry joined the multi award-winning company in 2014 as a mechanical design engineer, and was most recently Wideblue's design and development director. He is a Chartered Engineer and has over 14 years of experience in mechanical design, working on many highprofile consumer and medical device projects. He has a master’s degree in engineering from the University of Glasgow, and is a member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers. The Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT) has announced that Ralph Roberts, CEO of Mcgill’s Buses, will become the new CPT President at the end of January 2022, taking over from Jane Cole.
Ralph will bring to his role over 40 years of knowledge of the transport sector. He has spent the past 12 years as Chief Executive Officer of Mcgill’s Buses where he is responsible for running Scotland’s largest zero emission bus fleet and leading a workforce of 1,500 employees.
