The Pyrenees With Michael Portillo
The politician turned TV traveller eschews rail for once, relying on his own two feet to carry him through stretches of the Pyrenees mountain range between Spain and France. He begins in the Basque region, which plays a crucial part in his own heritage – his Spanish father and Scottish mother met when they were both helping refugee Basque children escaping the horrors of the Spanish Civil War.
