Just months after we said goodbye to Erinsborough, Amazon announced that it was reviving Neighbours in 2023.
@Tjgriffiths wrote: “Genuinely thought it was an April Fools when I first saw the headline but feel absolute euphoria that #Neighbours is returning.” @Mrspandp reckoned: “Just like Dierdre in Corrie back in the day with ‘Free the Weatherfield one’ justice has been served to our Aussie friends!”
@Gemmalips tweeted, enigmatically: “First day back after Covid and just heard the news… am now sitting in my office crying.” @marioerecleous said: “Thank you thank you I’m so happy that @Neighbourstv is back to our screens next year, yippee.” @mart_compton said: “I'm delighted #Neighbours is coming back. Not because I have watched it since Jim and Bouncer were key characters but because my sister is overwhelmed with delight about it. The show has been a true companion to her in her situation.” @H3atheroo added: “Look, I know being a #neighbours fan doesn’t earn me many coolness points but there are so few shows now that have the wholesomeness Neighbours had. The world has become a darker place in recent years. Let us enjoy our 20 minutes of sunshine again!”
#ROYALMAIL
Royal Mail has asked the government to allow it to stop letter deliveries on Saturdays, as it seeks to turn its fortunes around after slumping to a loss in the first half of the year.
@alexhern said: “If Royal Mail cannot turn a profit while providing the services it is legally mandated to provide, then its equity value is zero and it should be renationalised at no cost to the taxpayer.” @communistpompey tweeted: “This is the beginning of the end of the Universal Service and the end of Royal Mail. It will be broken up, sold off and absorbed into existing private logistic networks.” @Drblinder said: “No wonder letters have reduced, postage stamps are through the roof, and not fast, either. Royal Mail should deliver parcels seven days a week, 24hr.”
@davey177fs said: “All Royal Mail do is post leaflets through my door. Will happily take the weekends off from throwing junk mail in the bin.”
