Macleod will be honoured at Borders derby

Selkirk will mark the passing of their former club president Donald Macleod this evening when they host Jed-forest in the Tennent’s Premiershi­p.

The club flag at Philiphaug­h has been flown at half-mast in

Macleod’s honour since the well-respected doctor and exscottish Rugby president died aged 81 on Sunday.

A minute's silence will be observed by both the players and supporters prior to this top-flight match.

After a great away win at Glasgow Hawks last time out, Selkirk go into the game in fourth place in the table while Jed, who battled before ultimately losing to leaders Hawick in their last game, are in eighth spot.

Allan Ferrie, part of the Super6 Premiershi­p player pool from Southern Knights, comes in to start in the backrowfor­selkirkina­notherwise fairly settled team.

Gary Clarkson comes in at tighthead prop for the visitors.
