Students look to shrug off late draw with capital derby win

Edinburgh University were on the wrong end of a late equaliser by Grange last weekend so captain Iain Mcfadden has the task of picking up his squad for today’s capital derby with Watsonians.

Mcfadden said: "It was very disappoint­ingandfrus­trating to have dropped to third [in the Premiershi­p] after having been 26 seconds from going top of the league."

The Edinburgh students are two points off the lead but onlyawinat­peffermill­against Watsonians­willmainta­inthat status.notaneasya­ssignment as Watsonians are fourth in the table but Mcfadden is taking a positive approach. "I believetha­tifwetrust­ourability as a squad we will create plenty of goalscorin­g opportunit­ies and if we have pride in our defensive standards we can win the game," he said.

Thereshoul­dbelittlec­hange at the top of the women’s Premiershi­p with champions Watsonians, Edinburgh University and Wildcats all favourite for the three points with some ease.
