Unsettled will?

-

In the wake of the Supreme Court’s ruling that the Scottish Parliament cannot legislate for an independence referendum without the UK Government’s agreement, Nicola Sturgeon has said the next general election will now act as a 'de facto' referendum and that a special party conference will be called in the new year.

Why not? [Boris] Johnson considered the 2019 General Election to be appropriate rather than have a second Brexit referendum.

Andy Janes

Mmm, don't they just love spending taxpayers’ money and make it look oh so important. Another conference, ‘wow’.

Dave Spragg

Honestly woman, give it a rest.

Amanda-jane Mcgregor And the comedy show continues. It’s another No, deal with it and do some real work for Scotland.

Marcus Lane

It’s a devolved authority not a parliamentary position [Nicola Sturgeon] holds. She is bound by UK law, even her own law chief told her that. Still, she never lets reality get in her way. Especially the realities of governance for the people.

Robin Mears

She can’t have a referendum but without it the SNP have nothing to run with. Stop wasting taxpayers’ money on this and use it for the purpose it was allocated.

Elaine Burt

We need to be free of Westminster, Independence is only way.

Ann French

How much more will Nicola spend on her Independence dream? How many court cases can fail before the SNP run out of the UK’S taxpayers’ money.

Standard considered SNP response any time they don’t get their own way… ‘Wahhhhh! No fair!’

Gordon Devlin

She ought to respect democracy herself, we all voted no in 2014! She's not stopped banging on about independence since!

Cheryl Reid

Nicola – the broken record…

Alex Dick

Can't believe the crap being spouted by this woman, she and the SNP are the ones that should be respecting democracy and the voice of the Scottish people. We made our choice back in 2014 in a legally recognised referendum and they just need to grow up, accept it and crawl back under their stone.

Colin Young

She doesn't really do democracy, does she!

Caroline Currie

The Scottish people will have the final say.

Robert Gilchrist

Concentrate and put all your energy into supporting families rather than independence.

Hunter Hooper

She's failed again, when will the people that support her realise she's only in it for the money.

Alwyn Jones

Why not a snap Scottish Parliament election? As a de facto referendum, for the Snp/green gravy train government ignoring Scotland and Scots democracy.
