Award for Anas

-

Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar has been named the Scottish Politician of the Year, becoming the first person from his party to scoop the coveted prize for more than decade.

Well deserved, Anas.

Jacqueline Grossart Next First Minister, hopefully

Patricia Schofield Keep hoping, absolutely no chance.

Ronnie Young

Only because of the stupid/ bigoted vote for SNP’S fantasy politics.

Susan Freemantle There’s more chance of independence than Labour getting back in.

Ricky Pearson

What's he done to deserve such an honour? Certainly does down the credibility of the award.

Tom Johnson Absolutely First Minister in waiting, more integrity in his small finger than Sturgeon has had in het whole career

Robert Mcneill

There couldn’t have been much competition then if he’s the best. The man has done nothing for Scotland.

Mhari Macrae Well deserved. Well done Anas Sarwar!

David Graham

Probably deserved it as the rest of Scottish politicians don’t have a brain cell between them, totally unemployable in any other walk of life.

Tom Hamilton Pray tells us what him and his party of done to benefit Scotland.

Steven Mclean He brought the hospital scandal front and centre.

Semi-colony?

Columnist Joyce Mcmllan wrote: “The Supreme Court has effectively ruled that because Scotland is not a colony, it is therefore acceptable for

Westminster governments to continue to treat it as a colony.”

It will not last long. Scotland will get its Independence because we live in a democracy as do the nations of the EU in whose arena Treaties are determined.

Marie-clare Wrackham-mann Not seen the court ruling then?

Steven Mcdiarmid

I love how the SNP like to stick their noses into nondevolved issues like the constitution. They then moan if Westminster is seen to interfere with devolved matters. It’s pathetic.

Gordon Pate I fail to see how they or

anyone can claim we are being treated as a colony. There is absolutely nothing I can't do here that I can do all over the UK. Except perhaps be able to live peacefully and in safety when i have a different opinion to separatists.

Paul J Mcnulty We do not have a Government in Scotland but a devolved administration!

Catherine Quinn Absolutely and the Scotland Act (1998) which created the parliament also created the First Minister's post (yet she seeks to ignore the Act when it suits her).

Peter Lewis Catherine Quinn, sounds like a good reason to seek to have a real government then… Scotland Independent with her own Independent Government like most other normal nations of the world.

Buchanan George I am not British and never will be. The independence movement has become the Democrat movement as Westminster is treating Scotland as a colony. So if you think the UK Union is a fair Union. You are gravely mistaken.

Kirsty Shirlaw

Brexit is a harsh lesson on what happens when an electorate is seduced by the promise of a singleissue solution to all their problems. The prospectus for independence is a similarly self-defeating scam.

Liam Baxter In the Scottish Elections 2021 only one party campaigned for Scottish Independence, Alba. They got less than 2 per cent of the vote.

Roastin’

The case for Indy can be made if opinion polls consistently showed a clear majority in favour of Indy plus much civic activity in support of Indy, and by that I mean thousands and thousands of folk on the streets plus then winning over 50 per cent of the voters at a general election. At that point you have the evidence to start a dialogue with Westminster. Until then you just have a dream, a whimsy and nothing more.

Luckie Mucklebakit

Scotland a colony? Holyrood is a devolved assembly that is in charge of many remits. Count the number of SNP ministers.

Grumpy

Joyce Mcmillan cannot come to terms with the fact that the overwhelming majority of Scots reject Sturgeon's and the SNP'S anglophobic, grievance-ridden, intolerant and divisive "blood and soil" nationalist ideology.

Ah’m no bluffin
