UK’S second oldest person turns 112

Britain's second oldest person has celebrated her 112th birthday.

Ada Thompson marked the milestone yesterday at the care home where she lives in Keighley, West Yorkshire.

Care home manager Emma Jarvis said Mrs Thompson loved the card she received from the King and Queen Consort. Ms Jarvis said she has added it to her collection from late Queen.

She is a year younger than Ethel Caterham, from Surrey, who is understood to be Britain's oldest person.
