Fear of voters?

Nicola Sturgeon’s Trumpian bombast can’t hide that she is scared of facing the voters, wrote columnist Brian Monteith

Who’s going to vote her out like? It’s us the Scottish people who have kept SNP in power for 15 years as we want Independence and it’s coming.

Mhari Macrae You mean 31 per cent of 'the Scottish people'.

David Gray I find it hilarious that the number quoted changes depending on which mathematical rules are being used on any given day… and all the while completely ignoring the fact that the SNP was voted in to run Scotland, again, despite the pathetic cries from the minority.

Darren Ward Only about a third of Scots vote for independence while a third vote for unionist parties and a third don't vote or can't make up their minds. Are you seriously suggesting a Scottish parliament should undertake the massive task of setting up a new state when 60% of the population don't support it?

Peter Lewis No-one is disputing Nicola Sturgeon won the right to form a government, either as a minority administration or propped up by the Greens. That's different from "winning the election".

Callum Macleod Seems she has yet to drum up much enthusiasm for her de facto ref, even from those who typically lean towards independence. Perhaps the SNP are hoping the UK gov will intervene before the ball gets rolling on this, reopening discussion on another ref? Either way, it has to be her most divisive and ill-thought-out policy to date, which is quite something.
