Fraidy cats?

- Daniel Doherty

Unionist parties should have the “courage of their convictions” and call another vote on Scottish independence, Scottish Greens co-leader Lorna Slater said.

Not a chance, they're a disgrace, and scared.

David Neilson Bring it on as they will get another resounding No again.

Raymond Mcgregor Co-leader of a party who didn’t get enough votes – totally irrelevant.

Ron Comber Slater should stick to the day job, sadly she finds putting in a good shift difficult. If you consider we all managed to return the Barrs and Corona bottles for the deposit in the 70’s, it should not be too difficult for her to arrange. Sadly, after two years, nothing.

Harris Grandly She has nothing to do with this subject. The Green party would have got into bed with any party if they'd been offered a bit of power. The Greens don't stand for independence. They only stand for ridiculous, hair-brained, impractical measures designed to make everyone's life difficult.

Alastair Browne Slater is not a leader, she is a prop to maintain the failing SNP'S power – at considerable taxpayer expense. There is no need for a vote. All that would do is waste more money, create more division and stifle investment and development across Scotland.

Margot Stewart Has she contributed anything to her failure party?

Quentin Sommerville She should accept the result of referendums.

Don Laurie There was one in 2014 which by agreement was once in a generation.

Daniel Thompson

No thanks, s** off with the SNP. You lot have held power long enough, as have the Tories.

Edward Merchant-hughes But if there was another "No" would the SNP abide by the result? You can't go on holding referenda ad infinitum because the losing side don't like the result. Rather than seeking an underhand way to hold a referendum the SNP would be better actually working out a plan that deals with the many questions raised in 2014 (and since): currency, borders, deficit, defence, criteria for EU entrance etc.

Peter Lewis "But if there was another ‘No’ would the SNP abide by the result? "Of course not ! They would consult the SNP Big Book of Bogus Grievances to find another excuse to hold another one, and another, and another... Until they get the answer they want.

Anna Mosspaul Who cares what she says? She's only where she is to back up the SNP. No one actually voted her in.

Gillian White What union? The Cult of SNP want us to be in the European Union thus they're YOONS surely? Imagine wanting out of one dodgy union only to apply for an even bigger, more corrupt union.

Gary Pastor

They are NOT convinced that they can win support for 'union' – because if what we are currently living is the benefits of 'union' it's total pants! I'll expect silly excuses blaming everyone else for the UK problems any minute now!

Buchanan George The mistake is to view the holding of a referendum as in itself a minor undertaking in which everyone would be happy to take part if they were confident of winning. It’s not. The last two referenda were bitter experiences that sucked all of the oxygen out of politics for years. To hold another just to test the water on Scottish voters’ current attitude to independence would be an inexcusable diversion from solving the country’s real problems. And if, as I expect, the outcome was the same we’d be here again in a few years. The time for another referendum would be when it was clear that the settled will of the Scottish people had changed. I don’t favour independence, but I wouldn’t resist another referendum in those circumstances.

Willie Campbell The grievance party would invent any excuse to have an annual vote if they thought they would have a chance to stay in power or to win, which will never happen because the majority of Scots are not stupid.

James Sanderson It's not just unionists that think independence is a non starter.

Jimi Marshall So the plan, as if we didn’t know it, is to run Scotland into the ground in order that we all start to think like you? Bad news I’m afraid, we have a brain and eyes that can see and understand what’s going on.

Mike Scales Independence parties don’t have the mandate nor the numbers.
