One in 60 in Scotland had Covid

Around one in 60 people in Scotland were estimated to have Covid-19 last week, according to the latest figures.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) said that while the percentage of people testing positive increased in England and decreased in Wales, the trend was "uncertain" in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

North of the border it is estimated that 91,100 people in private households had Covid-19 in the week ending November 21 – about 1.73 per cent of the population.

This equated to one in 60 people, up from around one in 65 people the previous week.

In England it is estimated around one in 60 people had Covid-19 in the week ending November 21, while in Northern Ireland it was around one in 65.

It is estimated around one in 75 people in Wales had the virus, with the figure given for the week ending November 22.
