Scarlets slip to another loss as Lions climb table
Scarlets suffered a 32-15 URC loss at Lions, who made it back-to-back wins at Ellis Park.
A brace from Emmanuel Tshituka helped the Johannesburg outfit to a bonus-point success withrabzmaxwaneand Jaco Kriel also crossing.
It was a fourth straight loss for Scarlets, who grabbed tries from Dan Davis, Tom Rodgers and Sam Lousi.
Jordan Hendrikse kicked a penalty in the sixth minute and Maxwane went over for a try after 12 minutes, before Tshituka powered over with 20 minutes played. Hendrikse added the extras to make it 15-0.
Scarlets’ Davis dotted down with eight minutes of the first half left, but another Hendrikse penalty made it 18-5.
Kriel went over in the 55th minute, but back came Scarlets, through Rogers . Tshituka, though, saved his best until last, barging past Ryan Conbeer to go over.
Scarlets’ Lousi crossed with the clock in the red, but they stay 15th, while Lions are up to fifth.
