#LIZTRUSS

Short-lived prime minister Liz Truss claimed that she was never given a “realistic chance” to implement her radical plans to fix the UK economy.

@omid9 wrote: “Somewhere there is a city-sized warehouse full of letters and parcels for Liz Truss that can’t be delivered because no one has any idea what planet she lives on.” @haveigotnews said: “Liz Truss releases 4,000word essay defending her premiership. No word yet from the lettuce.” @David_osland added: “Joking apart, Britain needs to ask itself how a politician as patently unhinged as Liz Truss managed to become prime minister without even an election.” @davidgauke tweeted: “Liz Truss is living in her own world where tax cuts always pay for themselves, economic growth automatically follows a reduction in the size of the state and it is only the soggy left who disagree.” @jojowildblonde said: “Who else finds Liz Truss beyond offensive? Self-indulgent drivel from a woman who crashed the economy, made mortgage payers poorer and all the rest of it. Her lack of self awareness is quite breathtaking in all its stupidity.”

#HAPPYVALLEY

The BBC crime drama starring Sarah Lancashire ended after three series. @rebeccalucia94 wrote: “Working in film and TV I have heard producers say repeatedly no one wants women 40+ in lead, no one wants to fund regional female voices, no one wants to hear women be vulgar and swear. Happy Valley has proven everyone wrong. Viva La Sally Wainwright and Sarah Lancashire.” @eglington41 wrote: “Absolutely fabulous, didn’t take notice when people said watch. I started it and binge watched the first two series in three days, have been gripped by the third, never binged it. And loved every moment.” @Clemmy_1969 tweeted: “What a superb journey. Glad the focus was on the two main characters at the end and not the side stories.” @andrewparish1 wrote: “Note for BBC execs: Non box-ticking drama. Just great drama. Huge viewing figures, universal public praise, loads of Baftas. More support for licence fee.” @JOHB68 wrote: “That was just sublime and a masterclass on how to do an ending.”
