Gilson Gray appoints oil and gas leader as partner
◆ Full-service legal firm Gilson Gray has appointed Findlay Anderson as partner, strengthening its fastgrowing corporate practice in Aberdeen.
Findlay brings a wealth of experience, having spent the past two decades in senior leadership roles across the energy industry, including at GE Oil and Gas and as partner at Mcgrigors.
Most recently he was vicepresident and general counsel for oilfield equipment at Baker Hughes, supporting global operations. Findlay was also the company’s global crisis manager and emergency response leader.
He is currently chairman of Offshore Energies UK’S (OEUK) Diversity and Inclusion Task Group, and also sits on the policy council for Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce.

A major player in Scotland’s thriving procurement sector has appointed renowned expert Lesley Anderson as its permanent head.
Now she will drive the development of the Scottish Procurement Alliance (SPA), which has £1.1 billion of contracts under management and is also delivering a benefits scheme worth millions of pounds for local communities.
Lesley, who has 27 years in the public and private procurement sector and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, said: “Our role in supporting the delivery of projects for public sector organisations is crucial in the growth of communities. Burges Salmon has appointed Jennifer Mellor as a director in its Funds and Financial Regulation team.
Mellor joins Burges Salmon from Brodies, where she was a senior associate in its Funds and Investment Management team. She has a broad range of experience across the financial services sector, regularly advising asset managers, investment funds, investment platforms, pension schemes and family offices.
