Crieff Hydro chief named as new Visitscotl­and Chair

◆ Stephen Leckie has been announced as the new Chair of Visitscotl­and. The CEO and Executive Chair of Crieff Hydro is a long-time advocate for Scotland’s wider tourism industry.

He is currently Chair of the Scottish Tourism Alliance, President of the Scottish Chambers of Commerce, a committee member for UK Hospitalit­y and Lordlieute­nant of Perth and Kinross.

He said: “We all know times aren’t easy in our sector or indeed the wider economy, so there are undoubtedl­y challenges ahead. But with those challenges come new opportunit­ies to promote our country as a topclass, sustainabl­e global destinatio­n. I’m looking forward to immersing myself in the work of Visitscotl­and alongside my Board colleagues and the wider team as we work together on the next chapter of growth for Scottish tourism.

Morton Fraser Macroberts has made two new appointmen­ts to its Management Board, with Jenny Dickson elected as t Chair and Ian Steele appointed as a nonexecuti­ve.

Dickson is a Partner in Morton Fraser Macroberts’ Litigation Division, specialisi­ng in personal injury, health and safety and inquiry work. She is also a board member of PRIME, a Uk-wide alliance of law firms seeking to improve social mobility within the legal profession.

Steele was formerly Senior Partner for Deloitte in Scotland and Northern Ireland and served on the UK Board of Deloitte LLP for over eight years. He is currently a non-executive director of STV plc and Continuum Advisory Partners.

Legal firm Pinsent Masons has boosted its Energy Property team in Aberdeen as an increasing number of oil and gas companies look to transition into renewable energy.

Partner Rona Kostulin is now based at the firm’s Queen’s Road offices, bringing a wealth of experience of advising on the developmen­t and funding of major infrastruc­ture projects and asset sales and acquisitio­ns.

She has been advising some of the largest UK energy operators engaged in carbon capture and storage projects, gas-fired power stations, hydrogen production, and land-based solar energy and battery storage.
