Oh, Charlotte does like to be beside the seaside
◆ Estate agent Simpson & Marwick has completed the first phase of its East Lothian expansion plan with the appointment of Charlotte Murray as senior property consultant.
She is set to join the company at its North Berwick base from East Lothian legal firm Paris Steele. Her arrival comes after Hannah Graham’s recent promotion to Area Director under a new structure which saw the new Simpson and Marwick Group acquire the Simpson & Marwick estate agency business from Moray Group six months ago.
The two senior hires mark some of the most significant personnel additions since Simpson & Marwick first had a presence in the seaside town.
“Having always admired Simpson & Marwick’s influence and reputation in the East Lothian marketplace, I am delighted to be joining the team,” said Charlotte.
Management consultancy firm Alba Partners, which recently based its global headquarters in Scotland, has announced a renowned financials services expert as a Non-executive Director to its Board.
Mark Chadwick, Head
of Pensions at Natwest Group, is responsible for the design, communication, financial management and governance of the Group’s pension arrangements.
Mark said: “It is a huge privilege to be able to lend my support to Alba Partners. Being with Natwest for almost 30 years has seen me actively involved in one of the biggest upheavals and transformations ever witnessed in the sector and I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a senior consultant prior to this.”
International law firm CMS has announced partner promotions within its Glasgow and Aberdeen offices.
The newly promoted partners include Glasgowbased Fiona Letham ,headof the CMS Legal Services Unit (LSU), a key component of the firm’s alternative resourcing offering which features over 100 paralegals. With over 20 years’ experience and dually qualified in Scots and English law, Fiona practised Scottish real estate law before moving into leadership of the LSU.
Craig Wilson, from CMS Aberdeen’s Corporate Department has also been elevated to the role of partner. Craig qualified in 2011 and joined CMS six years ago.
