BUCKINGHAM PALACE
The King, as Sovereign of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, with The Queen, Grand Master, drove to St. Paul's Cathedral this morning to attend a Service of the Order.
Their Majesties were received at the foot of the Cathedral Steps by the Rt. Hon. the Lord Mayor and at the Great West Door by the Dean of St. Paul's, the Chapter, the Bishop of London (Prelate of the Order) and the Lay Officials of the Order. His Majesty's Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms and The King's Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard were on duty. The King and Queen gave an Afternoon Party in the garden of Buckingham Palace to celebrate the Creative Industries.
The Duke of Edinburgh and The Duchess of Gloucester were present. The Band of the Royal Marines Collingwood played selections of music during the afternoon.
Later the Rt. Hon. Rishi Sunak MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The King.
His Majesty was represented by Major Christopher Cox (Lieutenant of The King's Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard) at the Memorial Service for Major Thomas Wills (former Lieutenant) which was held at the Parish Church of St. John Baptist, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, this afternoon.
The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were represented by Sir Henry Elwes.
ST JAMES'S PALACE
The Duchess of Edinburgh this morning visited the Seashell Trust, Stanley Road, Cheadle Hulme, and was received by His Majesty's Lordlieutenant of Greater Manchester (Mrs. Diane Hawkins). Her Royal Highness, Patron, Hallé Concerts Society, this afternoon attended a Concert at Bridgewater Hall, Lower Mosley Street, Manchester.
