Nether Aucharnie leads Dingwall at £2000

-

JUDGE Kris Sutherland, Lathernwheel Mains, Caithness, had a busy day at Dingwall and Highland Marts’ Tuptastic multibreed ram sale at Dingwall, but eventually found his supreme in a Texel shearling from D Webster, Lower Reiss, which he later bought or £1600.

The reserve, a Beltex shearling ram from Ben Reive, Glenbow, made £1500 selling to Messrs MacPherson, Dulsie.

Top price was £2000 paid for a Bluefaced Leicester ram from Nether Aucharnie, Huntly, purchased by K and J Matheson, Milton of Aberarder.

The park-type Cheviot show and sale, judged by Keith Stones of the Nuncote Nook flock, Richmond, saw the champion, Belmaduthy Caley, a shearling from Messrs McCallum, Belmaduthy, top the section at £750, when selling to Messrs McNee, Over Finlarg.

The reserve, a two-shear from the Castle of Mey Trust, made £600 to Messrs MacDonald Grenitote, Uist.

Leading the section at £900 however, was an entry from W and J Brown, Hilton of Culsh, purchased by Isle of Pabbay Farm.
