Nether Abington bag champion at Lanark
ON Tuesday, the pre-sale show champion at Lawrie and Symington’s annual show and sale of 1205 Autumn born suckled calves was awarded to a 596kg Limousin cross heifer from Nether Abington, which went on to top the sale at £2000.
Top price per kg was paid for a similar type that crossed the weigh bridge at 526kg for Oldhill, when selling for 359.3p, with heifers averaging 236.3p.
Bullocks topped at £1860 for a 736kg British Blue from Peeblesshire JAC, and to 288.7p for a 478kg Limousin cross from Oldhill to cash in at 244.6p.
