Dippen Charolais wins at UA
WEBON Monday, United Auctions, Stirling sold 1654 suckled calves, where spring-born bullocks and heifers averaged 287.7p per kg and 264.3p respectively, with autumn-born bullocks and heifers cashing in at 262.9p and 255.8p, respectively.
Champion at the pre-sale show was a 302kg Charolais cross spring-born bullock from Dippen that sold for £1220, with the reserve, from High Bent, an autumn-born heifer scaling 394kg and selling for £1180.
Spring-born bullocks reached 404.0p per kg for the champion from Dippen and £1420 for 489kg Charolais crosses from Shanry.
Heifers attained 315.6p for a 282kg Limousin cross from Craig, and to £1100 for 404kg Charolais crosses from Shanry.
Charolais cross bullocks topped the autumn-born entries which sold to 311.4p for a 334kg stot from Dippen, and to £1470 for 539kg lots from Shanry.
Heifers peaked at 303.7p for a 382kg Limousin cross from Uigle, and to £1300 for a pair of 474kg Limousin crosses from Mains of Creuchies.

By the end of the day, Texel crosses averaged £87.26 (-£0.23 on the week), with Suffolk crosses and Beltex crosses at £83.14 (-£2.83) and £93.30 (-£3.50) respectively, Cheviots cashed in at £73.21 (-£3.01) and Mules at £80.07 (-£5.28). 489kg, £1420.
