Soltyre continues to expand in Scotland
LEADING independent tyre supplier, Soltyre, has further enhanced its offering for Scottish farmers by opening a new branch in Perth.
Soltyre – which is the sole Goodyear Farm Tyres’ distributor across Scotland – has enjoyed significant growth in recent years, expanding from just one branch in 2017, to nine locations across Scotland today.
The new business premises opened in Methven, near Perth, within the last month and is already proving popular with the agricultural community, particularly with those who favour the Goodyear brand.
Alan Smith, managing director of Soltyre, said: “We’re delighted to continue our expansion by opening this new branch within the heart of a true agricultural community. We’re here to service local farmers in the area and we have received a very warm reception.
“The name Goodyear Farm Tyres resonates with farmers in Scotland and we are certainly seeing strong demand for the products.

THE GOODYEAR Optitrac range has become a firm favourite with farmers independent tyre supplier for cars, farm machinery and virtually everything in between. Its link-up with Goodyear began in 2019 and the relationship has gone from strength to strength.
Proving particular popular with Soltyre’s customers are Goodyear’s Optitrac range, a firm favourite with farmers who thrive on the premium performance offered on both road and field from these tyres when used on high HP tractors.
Also in demand are tyres in the Goodyear Farm Tyres standard range for lower HP tractors, which are said to offer increased resistance to punctures, improved steering control in the field and excellent stability off road.
Lindsay Hart, the European tyre sales director for Goodyear Farm Tyres, said: “Soltyre is a valued distributor for us as they provide strong coverage across Scotland, and into northern England.”
Titan International has been manufacturing Goodyear tyres in North and South America for more than a decade and has subsequently moved into the European and UK markets.
To support this move, it has also made significant investment in new plant and equipment to manufacture tyres specifically for the European market.
