AgriScot 2022 ‘back home’

-

THOUSANDS of visitors are expected to descend on Ingliston next Wednesday, November 16, as AgriScot returns to its stomping ground after a three-year absence.

The event is free to attend, but with visitors urged to register in advance, the organisers are pleased to report a strong interest so far from groups across the UK and abroad, all looking to meet with exhibitors, enjoy the cattle showing, take part in seminars and celebrate the winners of the AgriScot business awards.

The event’s organiser and managing director of Rural Projects, Martin Dare, explained how things are going behind the scenes and how AgriScot has changed over the years. “Having organised the event every year for 20 years, this year is different, as it has been three years of stop and start with Covid, so we’re now just excited to get on the ground and deliver the event.

“When I was first involved with AgriScot in 2000, it was in two halls and with less than half the exhibitors we have now. Fast forward to 2022, the event has grown arms and legs in terms of the number of sponsors, exhibitors, seminars, and the number of awards – we have become a lot more sophisticated,” he continued.

“One of the strengths of AgriScot is we haven’t, or tried not to stand still at any point. We have kept trying to work at developing and improving our offering to align with the changing agricultural landscape and the needs of our visitors.

“AgriScot is quite unique amongst agricultural events, in that it is a focused business event. It is also a free event and having so many exhibitors and so much advice available on one day, and at this time of year, has been a successful formula for us,” he explained.

“We appeal to all sectors of farming and are on a continual journey to ensure that happens. We pride ourselves on having something of interest for everyone and we’re really looking forward to welcoming visitors back with a bang.”

The event is backed by The Scottish Farmer as its chosen media partner and for more information or to register for your free ticket in advance, visit www. agriscot.com
