ANM raise £166,500 for charity in its150th anniversary celebrations
ABERDEEN and Northern Marts have raised the astonishing £166,500 for charity as part of their 150th anniversary celebrations.
The year of fundraising drew to a close on Saturday, November 5, when over 400 people gathered at Thainstone Exchange to celebrate the Group’s 150th year milestone.
The Thainstone-based group had been fundraising for most of the year to support three local charities – Abbie’s Sparkle Foundation, Charlie House, and Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH).
The night saw John Rogie, Netherton Farm, Tarland, win the raffle for a brandnew PRO Series PS 18 23 H trailer donated by Stewart Trailers.
Grant Rogerson, ANM Group chief executive said: “We have been overwhelmed by the generosity shown throughout this our 150th anniversary year. A huge thank you to all our supporters, those who attended and participated in the auction and by the kind donations from the sponsors of the evening.
“The amount raised is testament to the generosity shown and has surpassed our goal to raise £150,000 in our 150th anniversary year.
“I would like to thank everyone who supported the evening, including James and Mandy Stewart, of Stewart Trailers, whose trailer donation contributed significantly to our fundraising totals. We are thrilled to be able to present such a sizeable amount to Abbie’s Sparkle Foundation, Charlie House, and Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH).”
Alan Hutcheon, a director of ANM Group, added: “The event was a huge success, attracting over 400 people to the Thainstone centre from the northeast and further afield and a huge thank you to everyone involved.
“We are delighted to have raised a fantastic total that has far exceeded our expectations and are proud to be supporting three inspiring charities who make a real difference in our local communities.
“A huge thank you also to all local farmers who have kindly donated the proceeds from the sale of their livestock and contributed to our fundraising totals.
ANM has been at the heart of the farming and agricultural community for 150 years and what a tremendous way to bring the group’s fundraising year to an end.”
