OVER the past few years the Ingram family – William and Carole Ingram, sons Gregor and Bruce and daughter Amy – of Logie Durno, Pitcaple, Inverurie, have been exporting a lot of Charollais females into Europe but with Brexit making live exports more difficult the team have been forced to keep more sheep, which is why they held their first special production sale through Harrison and Hetherington.

The major flock reduction of the Logie Durno and Loanhead flocks, reached a top price of12,000gns for their show gimmer which stood second at the Royal Welsh and inter-breed champion at Turriff Show, when selling across the water to Richard and Harry Powell, Armagh County Armagh. She is scanned a pair to the 15,000gns Wernfawr Ace.

Next in the line up at 7000gns was another gimmer, this one is sired by Foxhill Va Va Voom, which was the 2020 top priced lamb at the Premier Sale when the family bought him for 16,000gns. Bred from a Logie Durno Jackpot sired-dam, she is scanned twins to the 17,000gns Foxhill Walkabout, the hammer fell to Messrs Hoggard, Newark, Notts.

A full sister to the top price lot made 4000gns when the hammer fell to Messrs Baird, Armagh, Northern Ireland. This was another gimmer again AI’d to Wernfawr Ace and due a pair of lambs.
