Amazone goes ‘big’ with Rotamix harrow
AMAZONE has extended its range of KE 02 Rotamix rotary harrows with the addition of a foldable 6m variant.
The new KE 6002-2 400 Rotamix model is for tractors of up to 400hp and is characterised particularly by its high work rates – as you would expect from such a big machine.
It also has quick-folding to a 3 m transport width – but it is designed for solo use and cannot be coupled to a seed drill, pointed out Amazone.
The Rotamix system has four tine carriers per metre working width, while the trailing tines are said to produce a good crumb structure, even on heavy soils.
Because of the number of tine carriers, it can utilise a smaller spur gear diameter, which allows the design of the harrow’s trough to be robust, compact and lightweight. Its short coupling ensures that less lifting power is requirement compared to some other rotary harrows.
The tried and tested Quick+Safe system provides the 290 mm tines with an integrated stone release and the tines can be easily exchanged without the need for tools.
The Long-Life-Drive system, including the DirectDrive-gearbox, has a double sealing system, with cassette seal, while labyrinth seal protects against dust, moisture and dirt ingress.
The heart of the new rotary harrow range, the gearboxes, are mounted on both side wings. This harrow can be used with a pto speed of 1000 rpm and an exchange gear enables the tine carrier speed to be adapted to the different soil conditions.
For precise and consistent working depth, the KE 60022-400 settings are adjusted via a series of holes, giving a broad spectrum of use.
The setting procedure is designed to be simple and easily understandable for the operator.
The height of the levelling board is guided by the roller and this board also deflects upwards, thanks to an integrated overload protection. A universal setting tool is supplied for fine-tuning the precise settings.
Various roller types are available, including the Amazone tooth packer roller for heavy soils; wedge ring rollers for light to medium soil types; and Matrix profile for fast work in lighter soil types.
