Sheena and Holly join NFUS team
TWO new faces have joined NFUS.
Sheena Foster is the new regional manager for NFUS Forth and Clyde region, while Holly Fitzsimmons takes on the same role in Ayrshire.
Well-known within the Forth and Clyde, having been brought up on a farm at Strathaven, South Lanarkshire, as well having been an active Young Farmer and a keen supporter of local shows, Sheena was national manager for the SAYFC for the last five years.
As a Young Farmer, Sheena was chair and secretary of both East Kilbride YFC and Lanarkshire District, before going on to chair West Area region. She is also secretary of East Kilbride Show Society.
On her new position, Sheena said: “Through my role at SAYFC, I gained valuable experience coordinating and recruiting, as well as organising and promoting events, and I hope to use these skills to assist NFU Scotland members in the region.
“Alongside my work on behalf of farmers in Forth and Clyde, I look forward to working with partners, supporters, stakeholders and external organisations to make sure the voice of food and farming across the whole supply chain in Forth and Clyde is heard loud and clear.”
NFUS Ayrshire has Holly Fitzsimmons as its new regional manager, to replace Christine Cuthbertson, who is now running the Monitor Farm programme for QMS.
Holly said: “Having been brought up on a working Ayrshire dairy, beef and sheep farm, I have gained valuable hands on experience and an understanding of the social and economic issues facing farmers in Ayrshire.
“My previous roles within the region have developed my understanding of how changes within the industry have an impact across the supply chain from manufacturing, to the farmer, as I look to help the farmers of Ayrshire navigate some of the big challenges and opportunities they face in the years ahead.”
