Amazone unveils new Cataya Special EcoLine for precision seeding

-

AMAZONE has expanded its range of seed drill combinations with the introduction of the Cataya Special EcoLine, a new model that serves as an entry-level option within the Cataya series of harrow-mounted seed drills. This model continues the legacy of the AD harrow-mounted seed drill series, with the last AD 3000 Super being produced at the end of the previous year, marking over three decades since its introduction in 1988.

The Cataya 3000 Special EcoLine is designed to deliver both high performance and reliability. It offers a working width of three meters and is equipped with a 650-litre seed hopper that facilitates rapid and efficient filling. Featuring 24 RoTeC single disc coulters with a row spacing of 12.5 cm, it ensures accurate seed placement. Additionally, the system includes depth guidance discs or rollers to maintain precise sowing depth and an Exact harrow for consistent seed coverage, especially in mulch sowing conditions with significant straw presence.

The AmaLog+ terminal provides operators with various functionalities such as tramline rhythm adjustment, area measurement, fill level monitoring, and speed tracking of the mechanical drive. The inclusion of rear lights enhances safety during night transport.

Calibration of the machine is streamlined through the SmartCenter, which centralises setting adjustments. This system simplifies the calibration process, offering clear instructions and accommodating various seed types and rates. Calibration trays and additional tools, including a folding bucket and digital scales, are conveniently stored under the hopper lid to optimise space.

At the core of the Cataya Special EcoLine is the Precis metering system, designed for ease of use and efficiency. It allows for quick transitions between different seed types and simplifies the cleaning process thanks to integrated outlet funnels in the seed hopper. The system is mechanically driven, ensuring reliable operation.

The QuickLink system provides flexibility, enabling tool-free coupling with various Amazone rotary harrows and cultivators, facilitating rapid set-up changes.

The Cataya Special EcoLine is noted for its precision and affordability. It features three QuickLink coupling points for secure and swift connection without tools. The SmartCenter, located on the machine’s left side, centralises calibration controls for easy access.

Technical specifications and features may vary by model and are subject to change. Compliance with country-specific road traffic regulations is required, and special approval may be necessary depending on the equipment level. Users are advised to check the permissible axle loads and total weights for compatibility with their tractors.

Amazone, headquartered in Hasbergen-Gaste, Germany, specialises in manufacturing agricultural

and groundcare equipment. The company, employing over 2500 staff across nine production sites, offers a wide range of machinery, including soil tillage

implements, seed drills, fertiliser spreaders, plant protection equipment, and hoes, positioning itself as a leader in intelligent crop production.
