Rosamund: I’m going to be the mother of all stuntwomen

-

FAR from slowing down after having her first child, Rosamund Pike is set to take more risks in her acting career – inspired by her latest co-star Tom Cruise.

The 33-year-old former Bond girl, left, wants to do all of her own stunts in future films, despite giving birth to her son, Solo, just three months ago. ‘I’m loving being a mother, but it’s not making me think I need time away from acting,’ she told me at the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 launch party.

Rosamund, whose partner is City speculator Robie Uniacke, added: ‘My most recent film was Jack Reacher, with Tom Cruise, just before I had my baby. He genuinely does his own stunts.

‘I want to be the first female actor who does all her own stunts in a movie – he has inspired me.’ DOWNTON ABBEY has avoided another embarrassing gaffe, thanks to quick thinking by one of its stars.

David Robb, who plays Dr Clarkson in the ITV period drama, was shooting a scene of him measuring someone’s blood pressure for the upcoming third series when he saw something wrong. He says: ‘They had what looked like a period armband, but it had Velcro on it. I said I don’t think they had bloody Velcro in 1920!’

The drama, written by Julian Fellowes, has attracted derision from some keeneyed viewers who spotted TV aerials and yellow lines in backgrounds. But David says: ‘There’ll always be someone going, “Aha, that’s wrong,” and writing in. It upset Julian as some apparent anachronisms were viewers getting it wrong.’
