I was raped at 12, says Baywatch star Pamela
ACTRESS Pamela Anderson shocked guests at a star-studded Cannes Film Festival event by revealing she was molested as a child, raped at the age of 12 and gang-raped in her teens.
The Baywatch star spoke on Friday night at the launch of The Pamela Anderson Foundation.
In a moving speech, she told her 200 guests: ‘I did not have an easy childhood. Despite loving parents, I was molested from age six by a female babysitter.
‘I went to a friend’s boyfriend’s house and his older brother decided to teach me backgammon which led into a back massage, which led into rape. My first heterosexual experience. He was 25 years old and I was 12.’
The Playboy cover girl, 46, added that a school boyfriend ‘decided it would be funny to gangrape me with six friends. I wanted off this Earth’.
She added: ‘My parents tried to keep me safe but to me the world was not a safe place. My dad was an alcoholic. My mom worked two jobs waitressing. My mom was always crying, dad didn’t always come home, leaving us in tremendous pain and worry. ‘I couldn’t bear to give her any more destructive information, so I couldn’t break her heart more than it was breaking. I kept these events to myself.’ One guest at the event said: ‘No one was expecting a speech like that. We were shocked but Pamela was so brave to open up in front of everyone. She was shaking with nerves. Afterwards a number of guests went up to congratulate her on her bravery.’
