When Alex Salmond held a press conference at the same time last week as UK Treasury Secretary Danny Alexander, the one deciding factor was Mr Alexander’s greater largesse in offering the pastries, including cranberry twists, no less, to the hungry hacks. No prizes for guessing which side got a better press.
