‘Unsafe’ seating in Sao Paulo

ORGANISERS face yet more criticism after it was agreed today’s final test event at Sao Paulo’s Itaquerao Stadium will not be played in front of a capacity 60,000 crowd. Only 40,000 people will be allowed in because temporary seating has been declared unsafe. Three workers have died during a frantic race to finish the stadium, which will host the World Cup opener between Brazil and Croatia on June 12.
