Suchet son attacks West ‘bias’

- By Simon Murphy

RORY SUCHET, the son of former ITV news presenter John, has come under fire for fronting the Kremlin-funded Russia Today in Moscow.

The English language channel has been accused of propaganda over its reporting of claims that Flight MH17 was brought down by Ukrainian forces. It faces an investigation by broadcasting watchdog Ofcom after complaints.

Messages Rory has retweeted accuse the West of anti-Russian bias.

One, about a newspaper’s front page, said: ‘Crude propaganda reaching WWI levels. Expect to see posters soon of Putin personally bayonetting babies.’ Even Rory’s cousin, Richard Suchet, who works for Sky News, has blasted RT, tweeting: ‘Russia Today’s coverage is ludicrous.’

John Suchet, 70, admitted RT had an agenda but defended his son, saying: ‘He’s learning his trade as a newscaster and I’m proud of him.’
