Carol’s girl takes a quantum leap...

TV STAR Carol Vorderman’s not the only one in her family with brains and beauty. The former Countdown presenter tells me her daughter Katie, 22, right, has just graduated with a degree in physics from Cambridge and is set to return to the university to take a master’s in quantum physics and neuroscience.

‘She’s always wanted to do that and she’s also going to do a PhD,’ Carol, 53, told me at the launch of Ross King and Shari Low’s book, Taking Hollywood.

‘When we meet up we’re always talking about maths and science – we find that much more interesting than talking about clothes or men.’
