Forrest has unbeaten Ayr all fired up

AYR UNITED are the only side in League One with a perfect record after their 3-1 win at Stirling Albion.

Alan Forrest gave them an early lead and grabbed his second 11 minutes into the second half.

Gordon Smith’s penalty gave Albion hope but Brian Gilmour sealed it for Ayr with a third.

Forfar earned a fine 2-0 home win over title favourites Dunfermlin­e with second-half goals from Dale Hilson and Darren Dods.

Peterhead left hosts Airdrie bottom of the table after their 2-0 win, Andy Rodgers and David Cox scoring late goals.

Brechin had a 1-0 home victory over Stenhousem­uir, Alan Trouten scoring.

Stranraer keeper David Mitchell was sent off after conceding a penalty as the Blues lost 4-0 at Morton.

Declan McManus converted the spotkick and grabbed his second after Jamie McCluskey had scored. Conor Pepper completed the scoring before Barry Russell’s red card saw Stranraer down to nine men.

Arbroath top League Two with six points following their 1-0 win over Albion Rovers at Gayfield. Paul McManus grabbed their winner.
