Off-field drama doesn’t stop Lions’ pride as they roar to their first win
LIVINGSTON 2 COWDENBEATH 1
LIVINGSTON put their off-field woes behind them to beat Cowdenbeath with goals from Danny Mullen and Jordan White.
Lewis Milne pulled one back for Jimmy Nicholl’s side in the dying stages, but it wasn’t enough.
Working under a transfer ban, and with the Scottish FA investigating shareholder Neil Rankine’s other alleged interests, the Lions bounced back from their defeat at Hibs last week.
Livingston boss John McGlynn, who saw Mullen score 27 seconds after the restart, said: ‘We got a great reaction at the start of the second half. It’s a good three points.’
Livingston doubled their lead in the 74th minute when White walked the ball into the net after rounding keeper Thomas Flynn.
Cowdenbeath pulled one back with a low Milne drive in the 89th minute but boss Nicholl said: ‘We were poor, I’m hoping to get more quality in with new signings.’
