Sorry Sons spanked by Livingston

-

BOTTOM side Livingston ended a run of five games without a win in fine style against a Sons team slumping to a fourth successive defeat.

It took Livingston just five minutes to open the scoring when Jason Talbot swung over a corner from the right which was flicked on by Declan Gallagher for Jordon White to pounce at the back post and head home powerfully.

Danny Mullen put Livingston two in front in 63 minutes when he cracked the ball high into the net from an acute angle 10 yards’ out.

Mullen got his second and Livvy’s third in 73 minutes when he followed up after Keaghan Jacobs’ effort struck the post.

Livingston scored a spectacular fourth 11 minutes from the end when Jacobs lashed the ball high into the net from 22 yards.

White got his second and his side’s fifth in 83 minutes when he drilled the ball home from 15 yards. Sub Donald McCallum netted Sons’ consolation three minutes from time.

Delighted Livingston coach Mark Burchill said: ‘It was a good result, but I’m not going to get carried away. We took our chances at the right time and some of the goals were absolutely outstanding.’

Sons boss Ian Murray added: ‘The scoreline looks poor but I felt we dominated the game. We capitulated after the second goal but for 60 minutes we were by far the better side.’
